My name is Niko Mahoé, I’m a
professional street entertainer, I go by the name “Magician on a Motorcycle.” Street performing is as live as it gets. You are the only one that knows how it’s
supposed to go, or how you’d like it to go, everything else has the possibility
to go wrong or go better than you ever could have
imagined. [crowd applauding] The best thing about it is the freedom. It is the most free you can get, you decide where and when and how and for whom you perform. The freedom is by far the best part about it, The worst thing about it is also the freedom. I have to hold myself accountable, no one else will. A lot of people don’t realize how much goes into even getting the chance to do a show. How early that performer had to get to that spot, and how many other performers they had
to fight to fight off, some of them commuted three hours just to get there at 6 in the morning. I don’t see myself always street performing, but I want to always be able to. So, I’ve started spreading my time a little bit, but I haven’t ever wanted to quit, it is the best job I’ve ever had.
